Sabrina Sonner is an experience designer, scholar, and theatre artist.

About Sabrina

Sabrina grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, diving headfirst into whatever student, youth, or community theatre productions they could get their hands on. Upon graduating high school, Sabrina attended the University of Southern California, where their interest in theatre expanded to include game design, immersive storytelling, and new play development. After completing their Bachelor of Arts in Theatre at USC, Sabrina continued on to earn their Masters of Arts in Cinema and Media Studies in 2022, also at USC.

Sabrina’s professional career spans a wide range of disciplines, working as a dramaturg and production assistant at new play development labs all over the United States, a freelance voiceover artist with companies in Los Angeles, and a narrative and game designer for groups specializing in live, immersive storytelling.

While working in a variety of media, Sabrina focuses on creating and supporting pieces that elevate underrepresented communities, engage uniquely with media forms and structure, highlight aspects of the queer experience, and create live, communal play spaces. Currently, they’re pursuing a PhD at the University of Oregon to continue their work studying the way play affects community formation.
