Statement begins (Tabletop roleplaying game)

A horror adventure game adaptation of the podcast The Magnus Archives. Players serving entities of horror use supernatural powers to try to stop world-ending rituals. The game utilized Powered by the Apocalypse mechanics in conjunction with other unique mechanics to create feelings of horror, mystery, power, and powerlessness. Here’s a link to "Statement Begins".

The coronation

A queer, medieval fantasy module designed to be played in Dungeons and Dragons’ Basic and Expert edition. In this module, players work together to make a royal coronation go off without a hitch. It introduces a new Castellan class to this edition. While the adventure has stats and specifics for B&E, the story itself could used within other editions or systems. Here’s a link to "The Coronation".

Late stage capitalism monopoly (board game & art game)

In 2020, as an experiment in applying temporality and sensations to a traditional board game, I created a late stage capitalism of “Monopoly,” where the game literally falls apart as you play it. The game incorporates the use of a tissue paper board, ice tokens, candy cards, and property candles, to allow for game mechanics including eating, tearing, burning, and melting parts of the game. The rules and win conditions have been adjusted to accommodate the temporality of the pieces. The guide for creating and rules for playing can be found here.

In 2021, this project was featured at USC’s First Forum conference. The video to the right features an explanation of the game and the playtest run for the conference.

ascend (escape room)

As part of “Ascend,” a live, immersive show detailed in the experience design section of this site, I designed an escape room, leading a team of puzzle designers and working with my co-lead to create a room that elevated the story of the main event. The room featured independent puzzle tracks for each of the 4 pantheons to allow larger groups to divide and conquer, and an optional, bonus track for those who wanted to learn more about the lore of the room. The puzzles included a 3d pyramid puzzle, a sound matching puzzle, and a live actor combat puzzle.
